Of alllll of the DIYs I made for my daughter’s playroom makeover, her dad says these DIY hanger frames are his favorite! They are SO cute and are such a fun way to display your art prints (or even photos)! They’re ridiculously cheap and easy to make and can be customized to fit your style. Let’s get started!

Things you’ll need:
-A piece of foam board larger than the print you’ll be displaying. How much larger is up to you
-2 wooden dowels the same length as the top and bottom width of your foam board
-A piece of rope, yarn, twine, etc. to hang your piece
-Box cutter or X-acto knife
-Hot glue gun
-Art print or photo
Step 1
Prepare your wooden dowels. You can paint or stain them, or leave them unfinished like I did.
Step 2
If needed, cut your foam board to size. Make sure the blade on your X-acto knife or box cutter is sharp so it doesn’t tear the board and make the cuts jagged.

Step 3
Using a hot glue gun, glue the wooden dowels to the top of bottom of the foam board. Hold the dowels in place while the glue dries to make sure they set. I was shocked at how well the hot glue held them in place.

Step 4
Attach your art print to the foam board. I decided to use washi tape at the corners of my print because I liked the look, but you could also glue it in place.

Step 5
Flip the frame over and hot glue the rope in place. The length of rope you need will depend on your personal preference. I glued the ends of my rope to each edge of the foam board, right below the wooden dowel. Press the rope into the glue and give it time to dry before you pick it up.

And that’s it! What’s great about this DIY is that you can make SO many different sizes. Because the foam boards are so large and the wooden dowels come in really long lengths, you can make a huge statement piece for your space for just a couple of bucks.
If you decide to try this DIY out for yourself, I’d love to see your recreation! Share it with me on Instagram @hailsbellsblog. Or, if you have suggestions to make this DIY better, leave them in the comments of this post so we can all hear your thoughts!
Thanks for reading, friends, and happy crafting!
