Hello, all! Here's the video on how to make 3 versions of DIY Wall Decor. All easy and affordable.

For written instructions and product links, read on!

Project 1

For this project, you'll need:

14" Iron hoop, featured (affiliate)

Yarn, featured

Hot glue gun (affiliate)

Hoop alternatives

Step 1

Determine how long you want your wall hanging to be, measuring from the top of your hoop. After you've determined your yarn length, double it. Cut.

Step 2

Lark's head knot time! With your yarn folded in half, place the center loop over the top center of your hoop. Bring the loop around the back and pull your two yarn ends through the loop and tighten.

Step 3

With your yarn now attached to the top of the hoop, bring your 2 yarn ends to the parallel end of the bottom side of the hoop. Lay your 2 ends over the hoop with a slight space in between. Loop your end around the back of the hoop and pull them through that space. I wrapped mine around twice for a fuller look.

Step 4

Repeat!

Step 5

Once you get as many strands of yarn on your hoop as you'd like, lift up each 'tail' of yarn connected to the bottom of the hoop and secure them down with a little hot glue.

Step 6 (optional)

If your wall hanging isn't as full as you'd like (it wasn't for me), add in additional yarn using a lark's head knot. This time, we'll be securing the yarn to the bottom of the hoop. I attached mine in between each set of existing yarn, where the 2 tail pieces wrapped around the hoop. I incorporated the 2 existing tails of yarn in with my new yarn, which created a cohesive, seamless look. Add as much additional yarn as you'd like. I added 2 new strands for each existing strand.

Trim up the ends and you're finished!

Project 2

For this project, you'll need:

7x7 craft plaque (featured)

Yarn

Hot glue gun (affiliate)

Tweezers

Sawtooth brackets (optional, affiliate)

Wooden plaque alternatives

Step 1

Finish your craft plaque. Stain, paint, leave unfinished, whatever you want. I used my favorite stain and let it dry overnight.

Step 2

Cut yarn to your desired length. While you're doing that, heat up your hot glue gun.

Step 3

Determine where you want your yarn glued to your plaque. I like to do mine about halfway down. Find the center top of your plaque (for hanging later), and mark where you want your yarn to start on the sides of the plaque.

Step 4

Glue! I like to keep my yarn folded in half (remember to double the length of the yarn you cut if you do this) because I find that a loop is easier to manage than cut yarn ends. All you do is begin at 1 marked edge, put a drop of hot glue, and push your yarn into the glue with a pair of tweezers.

Step 5

Repeat this until you get to your mark at the other side of your plaque. You can do as many rows as you want. I did 3 full rows and a 4th row just in the center. You do you!

Step 6

To be able to hang the plaque on the wall, I use 2 different methods. First, you could simply drill a hole in the center top of your plaque (be sure not to drill all the way through!). Or, if you want to get fancy, you can attach a sawtooth hanging bracket. Drilling a hole works fine and is free, but the sawtooth brackets are really affordable and also simple. You choose!

Project 3

For this project, you'll need:

14" Iron hoop, featured (affiliate)

Yarn (featured)

Hot glue gun (affiliate)

Hoop alternatives

Step 1

Wrap yarn around your hoop. Glue down as needed.

Step 2

That's literally it. You can wrap as much or as little as you'd like. Change colors. Do patterns. This one is so simple and completely customizable!

Step 3

To hide the ends of the yarn when you start and stop, leave a little tail, then simply tuck in into your rows of yarn. Easy!

And that's a wrap on this post! Which was your favorite? The wooden plaque has been my favorite for a while because I love the earthy combo of stained wood and yarn, but the colorful yarn-wrapped iron hoops may be creeping into first place!
